General information

Reseda High School and the Reseda Regents Robotics Team are delighted to host our "11th Annual Reseda High School Tournament” featuring the ADC Fast Track Mission 2027 Game. The event is open to 30 middle or high school ADC teams. This year's event will be hosted in Reseda's new Multipurpose Room.

There will be a concession stand selling prepackaged items, and many food options in the Reseda community surrounding the campus will be available.

There will be Teamwork Fields and Skills Fields at this event.

Teams are expected to conduct themselves with the sportsmanship and gracious behavior that are core values in RECF. Judges and Referees will give strong consideration to these traits in students and adults when considering teams for awards. All teams are expected to follow the rules of conduct. Teams that fail to comply may be disqualified from the tournament without a refund.

If your team is not checked in by 8:15 a.m., your team will have to be dropped so that the match schedule can be run unless the lead mentor contacts the Event Partner. Please submit your Engineering Notebooks digitally for evaluation via a link. For VVV, only digital  Engineering Notebooks will be accepted.

The submission deadline for digital notebooks will be Wednesday, October 31st by 5:00 pm.

Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions to this deadline.

TEAM PAYMENT: Teams must be paid one week before the event. Teams not paid by this time may be dropped at the event partner's discretion to allow teams from the waitlist in.

Judging format

Judging Information

Reseda CHS and Reseda Regents Robotics, Team 20, is committed to providing a fair, consistent, and student-centered judging experience. All judging at this event will follow the current REC Foundation Judging Guide and will be administered by trained volunteer judges.

Engineering Notebooks

Teams wishing to be considered for judged awards that require an Engineering Notebook must upload their digital submissions through the competition web portal.  The notebook submission deadline is midnight on Saturday, October 31, 2026.  This pre-tournament deadline allows the judges to preview all the team notebooks prior to the day of the Tournament.

Team Interviews

Team interviews will be conducted on a walk-up basis during the competition.

There are no scheduled interview times. Teams are encouraged to visit the judging area when they have sufficient time between matches and other competition activities. If necessary, a portion of the team may complete the interview while other team members continue preparing for or competing in matches.

During the interview, students should be prepared to discuss:

  • Their Competition Logbook

  • Communications Mission

  • Coding/Autonomous Flight Mission

  • Airmanship

  • Challenges encountered and how they overcame them

  • Lessons learned throughout the season

A Note About Our Judges

Our judges are dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time to support student learning and recognize the accomplishments of participating teams. While many judges have engineering, education, or industry experience, some may have little or no prior experience with robotics or aerial drones.

Please remember that judges are evaluating your team's engineering process, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and design thinking—not just the technical complexity of your robot or drone. When explaining your work, focus on your decision-making process, the challenges you faced, why you chose a particular solution, and what you learned throughout the season. Avoid relying solely on technical terminology, and instead explain your ideas in a way that anyone can understand.

Above all, please treat every judge with patience, courtesy, and respect. Their willingness to volunteer makes events like this possible.

Judge Decisions

All judging decisions are made in accordance with the current REC Foundation Judging Guide. The decisions of the judges are final.

To preserve the integrity of the judging process, event staff and judges cannot discuss individual team evaluations, interview feedback, notebook assessments, rankings, or award deliberations during or after the tournament.

We encourage every team to view judging as an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and share the story of their season. The interview is not a test—it is a conversation that allows students to showcase their creativity, perseverance, teamwork, and growth as engineers and problem-solvers.
