π General Information
Welcome to the 2027 RECF Mississippi State Championship, hosted by Madison County Schools in partnership with the REC Foundation! We are excited to welcome the top robotics teams from across Mississippi for an unforgettable day of competition, innovation, and celebration.
The State Championship is the premier robotics event in Mississippi, bringing together the state's highest-performing teams to compete for State Championship titles and the opportunity to advance to the REC Foundation World Championship.

Parking
Primary parking lots are located across the street and behind the facility. Buses may drop off and pick up at the covered roundabout at the main entrance on Pascagoula Street.
Registration
All teams must have registration completed and paid, or have a PO processed with REC, by Friday, February 5. Teams not paid or without a PO processing by the deadline will be moved to the waitlist.
Concessions / Meals
Outside food and beverages are strictly prohibited. Concessions will be available throughout the day.
The Convention Center is cashless, so please plan accordingly.
Official Apparel
Fine Designs will be on-site with 2027 RECF Mississippi State Championship merchandise. Be sure to grab a t-shirt or sweatshirt to commemorate the event!
Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to making this event successful. Please provide at least one volunteer per team.

Power Access
We will have electrical access throughout the building, but please bring labeled extension cords and power strips.
Pit Area
Each pit will include:
- One 6-foot table
- Two chairs
You are welcome to bring additional seating.
Feel free to decorate your pit area and share small items (bracelets, pencils, buttons, candy, etc.) with other teams. One of the best parts of Mississippi VEX is the opportunity to build relationships with students from across the state!
Solo Matches
Each team will be allowed up to three (3) Driving and three (3) Coding runs.
Solo matches must be completed within the designated time window.
Practice Fields
Each division will have two fields available for skills and practice. Two lines will be used, with skills teams served before practice teams.
Match Fields
Each division will run matches on two fields, alternating one field at a time. Fields will be located on the floor (no risers).
Engineering Notebooks
All engineering notebooks must be submitted digitally by Friday, February 5.
No notebooks will be accepted on the day of the event.
Team Interviews
Interview tables will be open for teams to participate at their convenience.
Interviews must be completed by 12:00 PM.
Judges may request a second interview during deliberations; teams will be notified by the Judge Advisor if needed.
It’s All About the Kids
Our goal is to make this a positive and inspiring experience for all students. They’ve worked incredibly hard to reach this point.
Please remember:
– Adults may assist only in urgent situations.
– Adults must not work on robots, programming, or engineering notebooks without active student participation.
– Coaching during matches should be limited—allow students to make their own decisions and celebrate their efforts from the spectator area.
Please review the Student-Centered Policy with all adults who will attend.

The safety of all participants, coaches, volunteers, and spectators is our highest priority. In the event of severe weather, an emergency, or any situation that impacts the schedule or operation of the competition, the EP will communicate important updates directly to the coaches using the contact information provided during team registration. The deadline to submit engineering notebooks is February 5. Late notebook submissions will not be considered for judged awards in accordance with the REC Foundation's judging policies.

Registration fees are non-refundable.
Refunds will only be issued if the event is canceled by the Event Partner. No refunds will be provided for team withdrawals, scheduling conflicts, travel issues, weather-related travel decisions made by individual teams, or any other circumstances outside the control of the Event Partner.
