General information

Welcome to the 5th edition of the B3, Bot Battle at the Bluff. 

The intent is to have 2 separate, blended divisions of 32 teams, Gold and Green, with division champions competing for tournament champion.

The event will take place in the main gym, with the crew pits in the auxiliary gym. There will be at least two match fields per division which will be used at begin of the competition for solo matches, and afterwards for alliance matches (please read the tentative agenda).

Use entrance A of off Corley Mill Rd to loop around the main parking lot and come to the gym parking lot to access the main gym door #2 and the auxiliary gym by door #3.


Food and beverage: There will concession stands for snacks and drinks, and food truck(s). There are other options at a 5 minute drive from the school (McD., CfA, Subway, Chipotle, Willie Jewell's BBQ, SubStation II, Chili's, Starbucks).

12:50 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Lunch

1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Alliance Matches Continue 

3:40 p.m.: Alliance Selection

4:00 p.m.: Elimination Matches

5:00 p.m.: Tournament Champions match

5:20 p.m.: Awards

6:00 p.m.: Door close

Judging format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams must submit an electronic copy of their digital notebook by Thursday, December 3 by 11:59 p.m. Upload the link ______.

Physical copies of notebooks will not be considered or accepted.

In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  per RECF instructions. Submission deadline: Thursday, Dec 3 by 11:59 p.m.

Emergency information

We will follow the guidelines of all state and local officials concerning the weather.  If the tournament must be cancelled due to weather, it will be rescheduled at a later date.

Refund policy

The intent is for the event to take place. Barring an unforseen event (i.e. pandemic, state closure), B3 will be postponed, but not cancelled by the organizers. If event will be cancelled, then all teams will be refunded the registrations price minus $5.

All registered teams must pay within three weeks of their registration. 

If the registered team cancels their participation, there will be no refund.
