General information

This event is only open to members of the DMV RISE Conference.

The Lake Ridge Middle School Qualifier is open to any teams registered within the PWCS/Northern VA Achieve Conference. This is an annual event that is hosted by the Lake Ridge Middle Robotics team.

7:00 a.m.                                    Doors open

7:00 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.                  Teams check-in, inspection and setup team pit area

8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.                  Drivers meeting (gymnasium)

8:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.                  Teams find seating in the gymnasium bleachers

9:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.                  Opening ceremony

9:20 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.                Matches begins

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.                Lunch Break

1:00 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.                  Games continues

3:50 p.m. – 3:55 p.m.                  Teams find seating in the gymnasium bleachers

4:00p.m. – 4:40 p.m.                   Alliance selections

5:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.                  Elimination rounds and Awards

5:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.                  Clean-Up and Event End

 

Judging format

Teams will be judged in two components: judges interview and notebooks. More information regarding both are below. 

Engineering Notebooks - Physical Engineering notebooks with be accepted. Electronic notebooks will need to be printed off prior to competition. All notebooks will be due at the main check-in desk by the time of opening ceremony (9 am). NO late notebooks will be accepted after this time. 

Judges Interview - Teams will be judged by judging pairs in an interview format. Be aware that judging interviews can happen at any point throughout the competition.

Travel information

The event is hosted at Lake Ridge Middle School in Woodbridge, VA. Parking is ample at the school, with two parking lots available. There is also parking allowed in the bus loop and overflow parking is at Woodbridge HS across the street (if necessary).

Refund policy

Teams will refunded full price up to day registration closes. Once date has passed, any team pulling out of the tournament will NOT be issued a refund.
