General information

Welcome to Lawrence County School System’s Ready, Set, Drone Elementary Event

We welcome drone pilots of all experience levels for a fun, friendly competition day! This event is designed to provide ADC elementary teams with competition experience and to qualify for upcoming Regional Championships. 

This is an official 2026–2027 RECF ADC Fast Track tournament. It will include all four ADC Competition Missions:

  • Teamwork Mission: Each team will participate in at least 6 qualification matches.

  • Solo Missions: Each team will have the opportunity to participate in up to 3 Piloting and 3 Autonomous Flight matches.

  • Communications Mission: Each team will have the opportunity to be interviewed and receive judged awards in accordance with RECF ADC judging guidelines.

7:45–8:30 AM – Team Check-In, Drone Inspections & Piloting Skills Begin

8:30–8:45 AM – Opening Ceremony & Flight Team Meeting

8:45–11:45 AM – Teamwork Qualification Matches--6 Qualification Matches Per Team
Autonomous Flight Skills, Piloting Skills & Judging--Teams should complete all three Piloting and three Autonomous Flight Skills attempts during this time.

11:45 AM–12:15 PM – Lunch Break--All competition fields closed.

12:15–12:45 PM – Final Skills Opportunity & Judge Deliberation--Final opportunity for teams needing Skills attempts; judges finalize awards.

12:45–1:00 PM – Alliance Selection--8 Alliances

1:00–1:45 PM – Elimination & Final Matches

1:45–2:00 PM – Awards Ceremony

2:00 PM – Awards End & Teams Dismissed

Judging format

Both Competition Logbooks and Team Interviews will be considered for judged awards.

Competition Logbooks must be submitted digitally by Thursday, February 25, 2027, at 11:59 PM. 

All teams will have the opportunity to participate in in-person interviews during the event.

Free parking is available at the venue.

Emergency information

Severe Weather Plan:
In the event of severe weather, competition will be paused and all teams, coaches, volunteers, and spectators will follow the Lawrence County School System's severe weather procedures and move to the designated shelter area at Rotary Park Gymnasium. Event staff will communicate any delays, cancellations, or changes to the event schedule.  

Refund policy

If the Event Partner cancels the event, all registered teams will be issued refunds.

If a registered team withdraws from the event, no refunds will be issued.
