Join the Roswell Robo Squad for an intensive, four-day robotics workshop and scrimmage from September 12 through September 15, 2026.
Hosted right here in Roswell at our new mall facility, this event is designed for student robotics teams who want to sharpen their skills, practice driving, and collaborate with peers before the competitive season kicks off. By hosting locally, we are making robotics more accessible to area families by cutting out long-distance travel and hotel costs.
What to Expect
  • Driving & Operator Practice: Dedicated field time to master drivetrain control, practice precision maneuvering, and optimize driver-to-coach communication.
  • Hands-on Building & Labs: Interactive sessions covering advanced mechanical design and robust chassis construction.
  • Programming Deep Dives: Coding labs focused on autonomous navigation, sensor integration, and driver-control optimization.
  • Strategy Workshops: Brainstorming panels to analyze game rules, maximize scoring potential, and master tournament strategy.
  • Scrimmage Matches: Friendly alliance matches to test your builds and driving skills under real match conditions.
Registration Fee
  • Cost: $25.00 per team (This fee covers the REC Foundation platform costs and helps support the local event facility and materials).
  • Financial Assistance: We want every student to have the chance to play. If your team is facing financial hardships or budget constraints, please contact us directly to request a registration fee waiver.

Our workshop runs on a relaxed, hands-on schedule from September 12 through September 15, 2026. Doors open at 10:30 AM and close at 4:00 PM every day.

🩹 On-Site Medical Plan
  • Minor Injuries & First Aid: A fully stocked first-aid kit containing bandages, ice packs, antiseptic wipes, and burn gel will be located at the main Roswell Robo Squad pit station.
  • Major Medical Emergencies: For any severe injuries requiring immediate medical attention, our event staff will instantly call emergency services. The nearest full-service hospital is located just minutes down Main Street.
  • Incidents Reporting: All injuries, no matter how minor, must be reported to the Head Coach immediately so we can document the incident and notify the team's parents.
🌪️ Severe Weather Plan
  • Monitoring Conditions: Event organizers monitor the National Weather Service updates closely throughout the workshop.
  • Shelter-in-Place Protocol: In the event of severe high winds, a severe thunderstorm, or a tornado warning, the Roswell Mall provides concrete shelter. All students, coaches, and spectators will immediately move away from external glass windows and gather in designated interior hallway spaces or mall-designated safety zones.
  • Event Delays/Cancellations: If travel conditions become dangerous in or out of Roswell, we will send an email blast to all registered team contacts by 8:00 AM that morning regarding adjusted hours or cancellations.

Refund policy

🔄 Refund & Cancellation Policy
  • Withdrawal Deadline: To receive a full refund, teams must submit a formal withdrawal request via email to roswellrobosquad@gmail.com no later than Monday, September 7, 2026 (exactly 5 days before the event begins).
  • Late Withdrawals: Any team that withdraws after the September 7 deadline, or fails to show up to the workshop, will not be eligible for a refund. This ensures we can cover the upfront costs of reserving the facility space and purchasing materials.
  • The Platform Processing Fee: Please note that the REC Foundation charges a non-refundable $5.00 platform fee for every transaction. If you withdraw before the deadline, you will receive your $25.00 event fee back, but the $5.00 platform fee cannot be refunded by the host team.
  • Event Cancellation by Host: If extreme severe weather or an unforeseen venue issue forces the Roswell Robo Squad to completely cancel the workshop, all registration fees will be fully refunded to participating teams.
