General information

Welcome

To the 4th Annual Neenah's Merry RECmas Tournament! Teams of all ages will be competing in the Engage Competition and the Achieve Robotics Competition.

Registration Information

All participating teams must be registered with RECF Robotics website and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the website.

Engineering notebooks

We will be collecting Physical engineering notebooks at this event for judging.

Lunch and Concessions

Concessions will be available from 8 am to 4 pm. Lunch Food (Burgers, Brats, and Hot Dogs) will be available starting at 10:30am

Full (Marco's) Pizzas will be available for pre-order. To Order: Drop off order form (on pits tables) with payment to the concession stand by 9am to guarantee pizza is here for lunch break. 

Competition Preparation

All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

Review all game information:

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Please self inspect before arriving at the tournament

  2. Check for rule updates and changes.

  3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on

  4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.

    • Spare parts & tools

    • Batteries and chargers

    • Power strip and extension cord

    • Laptop computer

    • Programming cable

    • Engineering notebook (Required for judged awards)

    • Banners and other decorations for your team pit table

    • Giveaways if you have them

  5. Review the descriptions and award criteria that are being given during the tournament.

  6. Prep for your interviews with the judges and read the Judge's Guide. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.

  7. Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby, as teams are close to each other in the venue pit area. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks, ask the tournament director for a safe location if grinding is needed.

  8. Ensure that you have the latest version of programming software and firmware for your IQ Brain.

We will have special event  merchandise for sale at the tournament and a basket raffle taking place.

Solo Match Fields Open: 8:30 AM (Solo Match Fields Close at end of Alliance Match Rounds)

Drivers and Coaches Meeting: 9:00 AM

Alliance Matches: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Break: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM

Alliance Matches: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Elimination Matches/Finals: 4:00 PM

Note: We will do our best to stay on schedule, but times may change depending on flow of event.

Judging format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.

If inclement weather forces a cancellation or rescheduling, the event page will be updated to give details.

Refund policy

All registration fees must be paid two weeks prior to the event.


If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Teams will be refunded minus the $5 recf fee. 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Any teams that cancel earlier than two weeks may request a refund minus a 20% fee.

Any teams that cancel later than two weeks prior to the event may not receive a refund.

Teams that register less than two weeks before the event must pay at time of registration. The registration fee will be non-refundable.
